CAMDEN BAGS

A pattern by Aunties Two, this bag is made from Sixteen 2 1/2″ strips of Fabric for the body and another 1 yard for the bottom and handles. It is not at all difficult to make, but it does require some hand sewing to assemble it. Not a problem, just a bit awkward. There is a kit to purchase for the class, including the Pattern, and various different interfacings etc, which are easily available if you want to recreate the bag as gifts for friends.

The body of the Bag can be made from one fabric cut in strips for a more solid look or as many as 16 different fabric strips to give it more interest. These are then made into tubes with Batting inside and sewn together to make the Body of the Bag, thereby giving the Bag a firmness but not rigidity. Your sewing machine will handle the thickness just fine, no worries.

In order to give you as much help and time for sewing as possible, I have decided to make it a 1 and a 1/2 day class, thus making it a bit more expensive, especially with the cost of the kit. I will be giving you a discount on the kit as I can buy in bulk for the class. I am sure you will be happy with the finished product. Handles are optional, as without them it would make a decorative Basket type container to sit somewhere in your Living room to hold your knitting or books, whatever you want!!

2 Classes              Sunday February  3rd                  1pm to 3.30pm

and  Saturday February 9th                10am to 3pm

$50 for class  plus $45. for the Kit

HANGING LANTERNS

This is an easy quilt to make, just pick a group of fabrics you want to showcase and a neutral background and come along to class. A bit of pre-cutting and you will be on your way. I made mine from a group of Black and Grey fabrics but I thought that this picture would give you a better starting point for your choices. This one is set on point so you get a nice impression of Lanterns, however the block has many names and is quite old and traditional.

1 class          Sunday March 3rd      10am-3pm           $40.

SCRAP QUILT

I know that we all have a lot of leftover scraps to use up and I thought it might be fun to to make a few quilts that we can call FREE QUILTS . You know …ones where we don’t have to buy any fabric!!  I am using up some of my Civil War Fabric and its turning out really nice. This pattern would look nice in Batiks, or 30’s or just random prints. Its all in the use and placement of Value.

1 class     Sunday February 24th        10am-3pm         $40.
